"Global Shading Day" 2025 – A Day for Sustainable Sun Protection.

Today we celebrate the third Global Shading Day! On March 21, the beginning of spring, #GlobalShadingDay is all about raising awareness of the ecological and economic benefits of sun protection. For one week, the European Sun Shading Association ES-SO, the national association VSR and their partners will highlight the importance of intelligent sun protection through numerous campaigns and inspiring content with the hashtag #GlobalShadingDay.

For Griesser, this day is far more than just an entry in the calendar – it is our clear commitment to a more sustainable future. Our goal is to be CO₂-neutral by 2050. To achieve this, we are working with committed partners at a national and international level. We are active members of respected climate organizations such as myclimate and the business association swisscleantech, of which we have also been a supporting member since 2021, and at international level we’ve committed to the UN Global Compact 2022. Our climate targets include being a leader in sustainable products by 2030 and climate-neutral production sites by 2035. “We are leading the way as pioneers in the industry and are convinced that only the combination of ecological and social sustainability will bring long-term economic benefits. We work towards this every day,” says our sustainability manager, Philipp Boss, about Griesser’s extensive commitment.
