Cutting carbon emissions
Our collaboration with myclimate dates all the way back to 2008, when we began to voluntarily support their climate protection projects. Up until 2015, we donated the amounts generated through our retrieval and recycling of old blinds to myclimate’s climate protection projects and thus indirectly helped reduce carbon emissions. Since 2022 we’ve borne our climate responsibilities through myclimate in a new and different way, by investing in the organization’s climate protection projects on the basis of the non-avoidable greenhouse gas emissions in our carbon footprint calculations. The extensive activities here are helping to steadily reduce our corporate carbon footprint; and the unavoidable proportion of Griesser’s carbon emissions is falling year by year. myclimate is an international charitable organization that has strong Swiss roots. With its educational and advisory services on climate protection matters, along with its own climate protection projects, myclimate helps us all to secure and shape a more sustainable future.

Educational projects to promote climate care
Griesser has been a sponsor of myclimate’s Energy & Climate Workshop educational program, a national project-based competition in the fields of climate protection and energy efficiency that is open to apprentices, since 2016. It is a commitment that enables us to reach and engage not just our own apprentices but also countless further young trainees nationwide. We also worked with myclimate between 2019 and 2021 to devise and develop our Griesser Climate Vision and its clear targets and objectives. Our work here was based on our corporate carbon footprint, which was also established via a myclimate collaboration. Our Climate Vision creation process confirmed to us once again that our Griesser products are already part of the climate protection solutions that buildings need. Solar shading systems regulate a building’s heating and cooling, by helping retain the heat within the building or keeping unwanted solar heating out, depending on the season.
