All our production sites will be climate-neutral from 2035 on.

Thinking big: changing our buildings and producing our own energy
One of the goals that we have set ourselves in our Griesser Climate Vision is to make all our various company buildings climate-neutral by 2035. As a member of Switzerland’s EnAW energy agency for business and industry, which is dedicated to promoting energy economies, we are highly active in this field, and are unafraid to take bold new steps to achieve such objectives.

2022 saw us conclude extensive building work at our Aadorf (Switzerland) operating site, with the entry into operation of two new production halls that feature a number of innovations. By installing a 340-kilowatt photovoltaic system on the roof, we can now harness solar energy for our production processes. Elsewhere, a new heat retrieval system helps us utilize excess warmth from our production processes to heat our production premises.

New technologies reduce energy consumption
Profitable use is also made of the latest evaporation technologies in our waste water treatment activities. A new coating facility harnesses plasma technology to raise production efficiency. And our aluminum rolling shutters, and venetian blinds are cleaned for the application of their weather-resistant finish using zero chemicals and as little water as possible.

Our Aadorf head office has been equipped with a nighttime cooling and air conditioning system. The lighting in its production halls has been switched to LED. And the heating phase has also been shortened on our production lines. All of which has reduced the premises’ annual energy consumption by some 180-megawatt hours.

The expansion of our Nenzing site in Austria has also been completed, and Griesser has put its latest sustainable building into operation. You can read more about this in Commitment No. 9
